The answer is "it depends", and you can easily test this yourself.

Not unless you post some more details.  In particular, if your program
is short enough to be posted here, please do that.  If not, try to
write a short program that exhibits the same problem and post it.
Failing all that, tell more about the way your program allocates
memory (how many calls to `new' does it take before it runs out of
memory?).

Memory allocation has nothing to do with can't-find-file errors.
