You should *never* omit that ``blah blah'' if you want your problems 
solved efficiently.  What gcc prints under -v includes crucial info that 
is a great help in guessing what's wrong with your installation.

I'd guess that you have set the DJGPP variable incorrectly.  Please type 
"set > env.lst" from the DOS prompt and post here the contents of file 
`env.lst' thus created.

You might also consider reading section 8.1 of the DJGPP FAQ list 
(v2/faq210b.zip from the same place you get DJGPP) which discusses some 
frequent causes for such problems.
