Using __attribute__((packed)) on each element, so that shouldn't be the
problem.

I have been debugging it, but getting nowhere. It is CD audio code, and all
the interrupt calls are returning the right values, but no music starts
playing! (And yes, I have turned the card's volume up!)

I'll give it another shot, then post a fragment if it still doesn't work.
