Right, thanks for pointing this out.  I do use non-default pointers.

Btw, the reason for the non-default pointers is that the default ones
mysteriously changed their color to pitch black after some
installation snafu, and nothing I did later could restore the original
white color.  So I had to change the pointers.

Does anybody know how to repair this without re-installing Windows
from scratch?  (Please write to me directly instead of posting to the
news group, since this is really off-topic.)  Thanks in advance.

(This is Windows 95 version 4.00.950r-7, if that matters.)
