Wrong news group, sorry.  This news group deals with DJGPP, which is
entirely different port of GCC than the Cygnus one you are trying to
install.  The installation procedure is totally different.

I suggest posting this question to gnu.gcc.help (or write to
help-gcc AT prep DOT ai DOT mit DOT edu, if you don't have access to Usenet news).
