Under Options|Environment|Colors (I think) you can set your own color
scheme, but this is quite time-consuming.  However, it's all I can think
of... :/

Oh, also, under Options|Environment|Preferences, you can check the
[X] 16 background colors
box, if you want more shades for your background.  The high-intensity
effect can sometimes be annoying on monitors, but on an LCD it should be
okay.
