Right, well I am going out looking for DJGPP today.
I played around with lcc and I don't know if its just me, but sometimes it
compiles an executable and it wont run. ie. I compiled one of its demo
files a simple hello world program for the console. After running it in a
dos prompt, it didn't say anything. So I tried compiling it again, with no
modification and this time it worked. I've also had a number of other weird
problems with it so I guess I better start with djgpp.

Anyway, thank you very much for your reply.
