I'm not sure if you compile already like this, but this is how I do (and
it doesn't make any changes in the source code. 
Use the command:
	gcc file.c -o file.exe  (where file.c is the source and file.exe the
			       executable.)

There's an other way too. Use Rhide (the  latest version) and run 
your program by selecting  RUN/RUN at the top of the screen.

The source file should stay where it is (file.c) and you should
be able to edit it.
