I still don't understand what do you think is wrong with the various
results that you are getting in different environments.  The
memory-reporting functions are NOT designed to report the INSTALLED
memory, they only report the amount of memory that is FREE, i.e. not
allocated.  How much memory is free depends on the details of your
environment.

Windows is known to lie about the free physical RAM.
