It would be better if DZCOMM didn't replace the standard makefile: that
is bound to cause problems whenever Allegro changes. Is there any good
reason why it cannot have a seperate makefile of its own, and compile
next to, rather than on top of, the Allegro sources? That would make it
a great deal more futureproof...

You need to make sure your makefile contains a proper tab character, not
just eight spaces (some braindead text editors don't understand about
tabs :-)
