This must be in fantasyland! We humble users of M$ and Borland compilers
have to wait for the patchs or new releases of the software.

I know better, when we faced a bug in MSC 6.0 compiler (which also gave the
infamous "internal compiler error"), reported to Microsoft, and the only
answer we received was "a work around to problem", i,e. to avoid the
specific switches and code construct combinations, and the reassuring info
that the problem was solved in version 7.0!

My coleagues here have similar experiencies with Borland C/C++ 3.1 (not
Turbo) with huge pointers.

So not always it comes _within days_. Also, because GCC compiler is not made
for profit and does not change stock of FSF if some flawn is found on it, it
is easier to have a bug promptly acknowledged/reported than some other
companies.
