ask your friend to rnd the program from the dos prompt (by doing
Start-Programs-MSDOS Prompt.) then he/she can see if there is a
traceback. you might want to give him/her a copy of symify.exe (from
your bin directory). if there is a traceback, running 

symify name_of_the_exe

should produce some information.

just the exe should be enough. the problem is the properties of the dos
box that runs when you double-click on the exe: it closes automatically
after execution so you cannot see the output or traceback if any is
being produced.
