I don't think it really matters, because if you are posting in a newsgroup 
like comp.os.msdos.djgpp which lets you know from the start that it's being 
archived,and you still post to the group, you are giving permission for it 
to archive your postings,as opposed to "services" like deja news which are 
basically "stealing" the postings then archiving them without informing 
anyone of the fact.
