True enough;  I hate this merry -go- round that I've been on for the past few years...
Dish out a few Hundred dollars for an upgrade; Hardware/Software Learn a whole new skill set
for the operating system... la la la!   

And now the newest and brightest shiney object from seattle for the Lemming Masses....
Windows 98!  Why the very name is offensive!  Alluding to an operating system upgrade 
on a yearly basis?! 

I just hope that the latest shiney object that I need to run out and get supports 
my little world ( The DOS PROMPT ) 

Finally found an outstanding utility for writing games;  and know Microsoft is probobly going to 
make it incompatable!  

That reminds me.  Has anyone here been a part of the WINDOWS 98 ( Memphis ) BETA?  If so
How did DJGPP/ALLEGRO hold up ob this new Operating/File System?  
I understand that the newest version of WIN utilizes 32 bit File Handelers.  

Does that mean that fscanf - and other file routines from compilers designed for previous Operating 
Systems (DOS)/(WIN95) ( SPECIFICALLY OUR FAVORITE CHOSEN TOPIC DJGPP ) are just so much 
memorabilia from a bygone era?  Or the 3 Compilers I've bought in the last 3 years? BORLAND/MICROSOFT
