I think the most likely reason Vesa 2.0 would be slower is that your
hardware doesn't actually support it. Your `Display Doctor' software has to
emulate the Vesa 2.0 interface and translate to Vesa 1.2. This, of course,
means that each action will take longer and slow things down.
