It shouldn't. Debugging data and actual code are in separate sections in
object files, and in executables, too. The intention is that stack
traceback from stripped executable can be symified using unstripped image,
as the FAQ mentions.

BTW, if anyone is wondering what has happened to this thread, it has gone
on privately between Eli and myself, since no one else seemed interested.
If anyone can build Emacs and make it crash with this bug, please let us
know. We are running out of ideas.
