Please note that the ported packages are only that: ports.  So they
include only the docs that came with the original packages.  At least
when I port anything, the only docs I add is a DOS-specific README
file.

I don't think you can make this any easier.  When you download a
package about which you don't know anything, you must take the time to
fill the gaps.  No amount of http links will make this problem go away.
