I have gotten a few emails from people asking about Tpolygon and
Allegro, so I will take the liberty of posting yet another mail on the
subject.

1. What is it?
It is a C++ implementation of 3D graphics routines which is in the
process of becoming a simple, but nice 3D engine. It was started by
Janne Lof as Tpolygon. It is being enhanced by me as Tpolygon II.

2. Is it a replacement for Allegro?
No.
It will work alongside Allegro, but was not specially made to work
*with* Allegro (it doesn't use any Allegro routines). It's more in the
category of Plush and Jaw3D.

3. How does it differ from Allegro?
  - It's a set of C++ classes
  - it covers ONLY 3D and polygon routines
  - no music, no sprites, no datfiles, no yadda-yadda (I love the sound
of that :)
  - it is compacter.
  - It is faster (unsubstantiated, I have carried out no scientific
comparison tests).
  - It compiles under Linux and vgalib.

4. Why use it?
Use it if you feel like. If you don't want to, don't use it. If you
prefer Allegro, use Allegro. This is just another free software 3D
engine. I am coding it partly for pleasure, partly to implement all
these wonderful algorithms I read about. The source will be continously
made public as I develop it, whether anyone uses it or not, because
knowledge is freedom, and the more free code floating out there, the
better a place the world will be ( a moment while I wipe tears of pride
from my eyes :P ).

Happy coding.
