I know there are a few people here who are interested in this, so here is
something sent to me by Phil Frisbie, who is working on improving Mesa's
compatibility with DJGPP.

Subject: Mesa and DJGPP

I was just searching usenet posts with AltaVista and saw your question
asking if anyone had any experience with Mesa using DJGPP.

I can say "Yes, I have". It was not pleasent at first, but I am working
with Mesa version 2.3 beta to improve DJGPP support. I have already
updated the makefiles so that the libs and most of the (many)sample
programs can be built with one command.

One of the current problems with DJGPP support with Mesa is that only
mode 13h is supported. I am an Allegro user, and am going to use it to
add other modes to Mesa, including the hi-color and true-color modes
that will be in the next version of Allegro.

I cannot post to usenet right now, so you may forward this info to
comp.os.msdos.djgpp if you wish.

I will be adding some info to my web page about Mesa and DJGPP, probably
after the holiday weekend.

Phil
