Why is it then that under Linux I can get a 320x200 (or any other resolution
which fits into 1MB for that matter) with 24 bit colour mode for my Xserver
without any problems? It's just a matter of tweaking some horizontal and
vertical timings to get any desired resolution. Surely there must be a
DOS/Win program which will allow me to do the same?

P.S. Yes, I verified that it was indeed a 24 (32) bit colour mode, and it was.
