That's probably true, but I can't think of any better description for
it! Any bright ideas?

I called it a game library because that was what I originally set out to
write, although it has grown quite bit since then :-) But I still think
the term is valid, as game programming remains the primary emphasis of
the code. Sure, it may be useful for lots of other things (a graphics
library can draw all kinds of different graphics, depending what order
you call the functions in :-) but you have to admit that it concentrates
on gameish routines like sprites, blitting, and page flipping, and
leaves out things like thick lines and boxes with curvy corners that a
more user-interface oriented libraries would probably provide...
