No, you're right, Allegro makes a decent starting point for some
non-game like graphical interfaces to whatever. I've released two things
that used it (Presto and Folksong) and neither was a game, yet. But on
the whole, its features are the set of features useful for games. I
don't think there's going to ever be a data-acquisition module. }:)
