You need to do two things.  First, get the DJGPP FAQ (v2/faq210b.zip
from SimTel) and read chapters 10, 17, and 18, in that order.  Second,
grab Allegro (v2tk/alleg22.zip from SimTel), and use it instead of
messing with all that nasty DPMI stuff.  ;)
