The headers (.h) are needed. The examples will help you, but aren't needed. The
tools as your name says are usefull too.

What?!

DJGPP produces ONLY 32 bits code. Your .EXE files generated by DJGPP will have
a 2Kb loader (part of it is a 16 bits application) and the 32 bits code
attached.

DJGPP uses DPMI services to exploid the 32 bits facilties even in DOS.

The programs are a little FASTER in DOS. In comparisson with OS/2 and Win. Unix
doesn't apply for it because DJGPP is for DOS, don't confuse GCC with DJGPP
even when DJGPP uses GCC.

DJGPP is equal or even more easy to use than TC++ 3.0, check RHIDE.
The EXEs are much more faster, that isn't true if your application only access
to disk all the time and makes no computations.

Is hard to compare, some people said that DJGPP code is faster than Watcom code, other
the reverse, but all says is faster than the last Borlandc. I have BC++ 3.1,
DJGPP generates much better code.
