Use a project file. The environment is restored exactly how you left it.

Start RHIDE: RHIDE myproj (will generate myproj.exe)
Then add all source files to the project
F9 to make
CTRL-F9 to run
Quit RHIDE, etc.
Restart RHIDE: RHIDE myproj

It will put all the windows back exactly as you left them, restoring
colours, directories, editor options, etc.
