Uhm. I've been using OpenDOS with DOS4GW for a long time now, and
(excepting having to disable DPMS and DPMI=OFF in EMM386) it works fine. 
I've been running Warcraft II, DOOM II, and ATS SuperVisions 6700 (a 3D
CAD/rendering package which uses a dongle) which all use DOS4GW, with no
problems. Not CWSDPMI though.. never tried it yet.
