I don't understand.  Because the author has worked so hard on it he/she
should not release it?  Meaning that if I have some mediocre program
that I put no effort into it would be appropriate to release the code?

This is not a slag on Shawn of Allegro fame but I have learned more from
reading his code than I have from the doc. that comes with Allegro.

Okay that was my last word, although I don't think this is inappropriate
subject matter since DJGPP is released with code as is much of the stuff
written using it.
