I'd have to second this.  We use it as our unofficial Textbook in our
C programming course (No req'd textbook, but our instructor
recommended it as a reference text).  Although I haven't 'read' many
C-programming books, I'd have to say it's fairly 'readable'.  Can't
say much for the plot though.

As to a source for it.  This may sound flippant, but I'm not trying to
be.  Since it _is_ a college/University text book, and just about
every community has a local college in town or nearby, why not check
out the University or college of whereever's Bookstore?   If they
don't have it they can certainly order it and despite what you may
have heard, you don't have to be a student to buy books from them.
