THANKS Michael! This works fine! I just found out how to open the file with _dos_open(..., O_RDONLY|SH_DENYNO, ...) but since I did not know the function fdopen() (I usually write portable ANSI-C-code!) I thought I would have to write some buffering and a "fgets"-function myself --- what a pain! THANKS for your example code! BTW: I still do not agree with the behaviour of 'fopen()' !!! Beni.
