Watch your computer booting. If at any time it says Bad Command or File Name, you 
have altered part of your autoexec.bat that you wern't supposed to touch.  If you are getting an
Out of Environment Space, change the Shell= line in your config.sys and add /e:500.
If these don't work, repost and give us more specifics about your computer.
