  Perhaps I confused, isn't MATCOM a set of libraries to compile code generated 
by MATLAB? 
  If that's ok the deal is like that:

1) You write the mathematic code in a very powerfull language (very far from 
C), you can compute very complex things, matrix, transforms, etc and you can 
draw the result in thousands of usefull ways.
2) Ones you have your "program" working, you can generate a C++ code that 
linked with the right libs will behave just like the first one but as an 
standalone EXE.
3) You need a C++ compiler for that. Seems that this people added support for 
DJGPP.
