[ pages and pages of meaningless characters snipped ]

Two lines of actual message were written, and the rest is trash. Maybe
I'm just
clueless, but do many people actually read these messages with "MIME
aware
tools"??? If not, this is what I call a huge waste of bandwidth, (almost
as bad as
most of my messages ;-) ), and also a pretty strong argument for
moderation.

Is there some type of program that could be used to filter out things
like this? (Not
the whole message, just the trash). Also, while I'm on the subject is
there a way
we could keep a 32 bit checksum for every message that is posted, and if
anything
identical comes along, trash it? Would these only work on DJ's mail
server, or could
they be implemented for the newsgroup too? I suppose the NG would have
to vote
on something like this.
