The problem was that the original poster does not understand that C and C++
are not the same thing.  Probably as a fault of using Turbo C++ (which
always compiles C++ unless you specifically tell it not to).

Besides, stack clobbering would cause runtime errors, whereas his complaint
was about compilation errors.
