This article is off topic. but I'll go ahead and respond

the reason Display Doctor shuts down after 21 days is because it is
Shareware- meaning that you get to try the program for a limited time
before you are required to delete it or buy it.  It is not
crippleware.  UniVBE 5.1 has the same 21 day limit on it too.  I used
to use it before I got my Matrox Millenium which has the vesa 2.0
built in
