Well, not annoyed, just curious. I'll try to intercept the DOS-calls and
investigate the 'problem' some more.

As far as I know, it only happens with `ld'. I don't use _every_ DJGPP
program regularly, but I am quite sure `ld' is the only one. That's one
of the strange things about it.
