Why don't you try Aurora? It is a very powerfull editor designed for DOS, it
completly configurable but it better to say completly programmable, yes most
of aurora code it is written in it own language!
Well, it is not freeware, if you want a complete distribution you have to
pay, but the copy distributed for evaluation purpose it is enough!

I found it in a Simtelnet mirror.
