Please ask any questions you have about using either RHIDE or Emacs. You
should have no problems compiling from within both of them.

If you are new to Emacs, you need to read its tutorial first. Start
Emacs, then type C-h t (i.e., hold down the Ctrl key, press h, release
Ctrl and h, then press t).

The information in both Emacs and RHIDE is there, on-line, it comes with
the programs, you just need to read a bit of the docs before using the
tool.

Who says VC++ is easier to figure out? One of my bitter gripes about many
Windows programs is that the documentation explains things that are so
trivial they don't need to be explained at all, while the really important
pieces of info are hidden in places where you cannot easily find it, or
aren't there at all. At least with DJGPP you always have the sources to
see what the bugger *really* does.

A tip: don't hesitate to ask about anything here; that's your best bet to
grasp the enormous complexity of powerful tools, and grasp it fast.
