I just remembered something when I saw the replies to this. There's a
new
player in the Widndows Development field, and I've strongly considered
buying a copy: Metrowerk's Codewarrior.

The Coadewarrior IDE compiles C, C++, Pascal, and Java and produces
executables for Windows, Macs (PowerPC and 68k). They've long been
regarded
as one of the absolute strongest development platforms for the Mac, and
their intial Windows offering looks REALLY strong. As part of the deal,
if you buy now, they offer free upgrades for something like the next
three
(major) revisions. I am not affiliated with them, I just think they look
like a nice alternative to MS (yuck) and Borland (I used to like them
but
they tend to produce bloated junk now.)

Needless to say, I'll use DJGPP for any DOS work, but I may soon get
Codewarrior to learn Windows programming.
