Subject: Need FORTRAN (g77) callable system time function or subroutine

I am new to the world of DJGPP, C and C++. I have coded in FORTRAN for
over 20 years. I am in the process of porting several medium sized
FORTRAN programs developed on SGI and VAX platforms to a P166 platform
under DOS and/or Win95 operating systems.

These are realtime 3D simulation programs and I need to find FORTRAN or
F2C compilers that produce VERY FAST executables. In preparation for
this port, I have created many small benchmark programs which test for
various bottlenecks in the resulting executables (basic 3D
transformations, code optimization, file I/O, etc.).

In order for these benchmark programs to work effectively, I need to
find a FORTRAN callable function or subroutine which supplies a high
resolution time value (as least millisecond resolution). Does anyone
know of the whereabouts of such a function/subroutine? Or,
alternatively, how can I call a C time function from FORTRAN (g77, DJGPP
2.01)?

Thank you,

Jerry Green
