The output of go32-v2 suggests that you use DJGPP v2.0.  If that is true,
please upgrade to v2.01.  `system' in v2.0 has a known bug of losing
handles when you use a pipe or redirection symbols in the command.  These
problems are all solved in v2.01 (where Make calls `system' to run the
job, so such problems will be visible long time ago).
