You aren't using the '-l' parameter properly.  To link 'libcurs.a', use
'-lcurs'.  This is automatically turned into <lib>curs<.a> by the
linker.  In a similar way, 'libm.a' becomes '-lm', 'liballeg.a' becomes
'-lalleg', etc.  There are certain archaic reasons for this format, but
it does help to preserve standard library naming practices.
