I am new to programming and C, but I have been using DJGPP with no
problem using the same chip you have.  So you shouldn't either. 
Actually Rhide runs faster under Windoze (i am using Windows 3.11) than
it does in DOS using CSW32dpmi(sp?).  And you don't have to define any
zones or really scary techy stuff like that (well scary to me anyway).
