You should use the assembly-oriented commands of GDB (stepi, nexti,
disassemble etc.) instead of source-oriented ones (step, next, list etc.)
when debugging assembly code.  Did you do that?

The DJGPP FAQ list (v2/faq210b.zip from the same place you get DJGPP) 
includes in section 12.5 a pointer to a modified version of FSDB which 
reportedly supports graphics programs.
