I have tried that and sometimes when you do not hide even if it is not in
the region you are drawing some side-effects may appear. You'll see some
part of the screen being drawn into. Particularly when your mouse is in
the same x or y positions of the screen when you draw. I do not know if
this is always a case, but I have experienced that. I think it is always a
good idea to hide a mouse and I think this is a result of the way allegro
handles the mouse.
