   Is there a FAQ for djgpp?  I just downloaded a large collection of software and
   installed it under DOS 97 (win 95).  Emacs is looking for termcap and gcc
   doesn't like crt0.o

There was a thread a few weeks ago that was the same problem.  If you use BASH it
will define TERM and TERMCAP and these will confuse Emacs into trying to use them.
Scan the list at DJ's site to be sure, but the solution was something like: add
an "unset TERM" to the [EMACS] section of djgpp.env.  Check your environment for 
these variables.
