If there isn't a Win 3.1 version, then I wonder how I'm sending you this
message. :)

Seriously, I was as surprised as you, but it's easy to find - just go to
Netscape's download site, pick NN 3.01 Gold as the software, and pick
Win 3.1 as the platform. Voila! The filename is 'g16e301.exe'.

Well, it's never crashed while active either. In fact, the only times I
have ever managed to crash NN were from my own stupidity.

What specifically are the "bugs" you describe? In 2.01, if you typed a
line immediately after a line of quoted text, the editor would stick
that line at the end of the previous one, making it very awkward to do
such things as "underline" quoted text. This bug is fixed in 3.01 (and
3.00). If you are referring to problems with wrapping lines to 72
characters, then you probably aren't using the editor right. :) For
instance, I can keep typing and no matter how the editor appears to wrap
my text, when it gets sent it will be correctly wrapped to 72
characters. If I don't want it to wrap (e.g., sending code snippets), I
can simply turn it off in the View menu.

I'd be very curious to learn what bugs you think are in the editor. :)

That wasn't the problem. I am well aware of the message options; what
was happening was that NN would show a certain number of unread articles
in a newsgroup, but would only load a small number of those. The rest
mysteriously vanished, and couldn't even be read from the references of
others. After reinstalling, the problem went away.

There ya go. One decidedly good advantage of Linux. :) I wonder when
I'll finally bite the bullet and install it...
