I seem to recall reading something in the GUS SDK about MEGAEM not
working with protected mode apps, in which case it certainly won't work,
but I could well be mistaken, or that could have changed. Anyone have
any experience of this?

Tero Parvinen (tero AT mnar DOT tky DOT hut DOT fi) has started working on a GUS
driver, along with some major enhancements to the sound API. It won't be
ready in time for Allegro 2.2, but it is in the works.
