Ok, that's right, I forgot.  But this is for a no-intervention project,
it's being set up to run all night without me babysitting it.

In other words, I'm piping it to temp.dat instead of extracting it as an
independant file?  Cool, I have means to generate unique filenames, which
is necessary because I might have as many as 4-5 files waiting to be
processed at any one time.  (and each needs to be deleted after being
used.)
