That is entirely YOUR opinion.  Many people including myself still use
BC3.1.  DJGPP is great, but not always necessary.  I still write about
90% of my programs in BC.  Only things I use DJ' for are programs that
need gobs of memory, and some game code that I'm working on.  All
other programs are usually small model BC3.1 programs.  I think also
that there are still more BC programmers out there than DJ'
programmers.  This is not to say anything bad about DJ', but rather to
correct the untrue statements that you have made.  BC is still a great
development system.

I don't know what he patched, but probably the dumb *.TXT thing in the
EDIT Open File box.  Everyone and their sister has went into DEBUG on
QBASIC.EXE and patched *.TXT to be *.*.  (Also in NOTEPAD.EXE in
W3.1).  Doesn't sound funny to me!  I frequently patch software in
this manner and I suspect many others do too.
