Subject: CD Writers, MPEG, TCP/IP etc

Friends,

has anyone any pointers to code or documentation for doing any of the
following from DJGPP (I am writing code for a piece of clinical monitoring
equipment and want if at all possible to run from a minimal DOS with DJGPP
control programme, and to avoid at all costs having to use any version of
Windows - but non-Windows drivers are getting hard to find)

a) writing to CD recorder drives (for data archival) - most of the
commercial software for this is Windows, some (high end - $$$) are Unix,
there is a documented real-mode interface (ASPI) that can get round the SCSI
card layer but I still need to know command set, data structures etc to
create a readable CD-ROM image...

b) playback of digitised video (primarily for 'help' functions) - code to
read and display either MPEG (preferably), QuickTime, or AVI ('Video for
Windows') - does Allegro or any of the other video libs include this (so far
I have been using GRX20 and LIBJPEG (Independent JPEG group) - neither of
which include much info on moving image!)

c) access to a tcp/ip stack - rumour has it that WATTCP (presumably as
packet driver client) has been ported to DJGPP - does anyone know if this is
true ? have URL ?

If people wish to reply privately to me I will summarise to the list to save
newsgroup noise...

Thanks, Paul
